Plum, wild berry, tobacco, crushed herb and balsamic aromas all come together on this elegant red. The palate shows its Sangiovese and Montalcino pedigree, delivering juicy Morello cherry, raspberry compote, star anise and tobacco alongside taut, polished tannins. It's bright and well balanced, with firm acidity that will keep it going for years. Drink 2021-2033.

This is a terrific wine that performs with grace, elegance and lengthy endurance. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva stands out in my mind as one of the most enjoyable riservas I have tasted from this classic vintage. The aromas are balanced and neatly tucked in. The effect it seamless and smooth with a virtual continuum of wild berry, rose, spice and autumnal aromas. Nothing is out of place and the wine feels glossy and polished in terms of mouthfeel. The tannins are firm but expertly integrated, giving this wine a prolonged future drinking window.
